cut radiator

last night I removed the plastic cover over the radiator (for curiosity) and found that the top of the radiator was cut like with a band saw all the way through the aluminum "u" channel that makes the top of the radiator  ??? do all HD radiators havew this for expanson contraction? or is this some factory F*ckup seams like that would become a big stress point causing cracks in the cores as it expands and contracts

 

 

anyone who has removed this cover what did u find? and if u never have maybe u should ;)

 

 

any info apreciated ned to know if I need a new radiator from my dealer
