Bumper Replacement

My sister has a 2002 Tahoe. She just got rearended earlier today and the bumper is bent downwards a little bit and the chrome is smashed in a bit. I had an accident in my bumper, and even though it is hardly noticeable I got $400 for it and just left it alone. Anyway, assuming the persons insurance company pays, I would like to repair the bumper myself cheaply so she can keep the extra cash. How much does a new rear bumper cost? Also, is it hard to do?

I just had the rear bumper replaced on my 2000 Silverado 2500. The OEM bumper was about $325 with installation at a local bodyshop. Bumper alone was probably about $280.

If it is only a difference of $45 to have it installed I won't bother to do it myself then. Thanks.

Check around at some local salvage yards.. Or buy a after market bumper form Key Stone or any other after market company...

i have a ding in mine and some junk yard tried to rip me off so i said the hell with them they wanted to charge me 325 for a used rusted bumper and they said it was nice i wanted to haul off and give him a good one over the counter what an idiot. anyways now that i got that out look online i thought i remember seeing it for 250 but i jsut left mine alone
