4.3 Intake ideas/help

Hey everyone I have an 07 classic 4.3 v6 and was looking to do an intake as my first mod. I was wondering what people thought of my options

 

1.) K&N Intake -Out of the question, not paying 300 bucks for bent tubing.

2.) K&N Filter, with dremeld out airbox (cut the bottom up for more airflow)

3.) Ebay Intake, I was thinking of doing this, but I dont know about the piping if it fits or not, its ebay afterall.

You could make your own out of a cloth rag, a vacuum cleaner hose, and old sheetmetal like my brother did. Looked ghetto-fabulous.

Save your money. Besides making noise and looking cool they don't do much. The stock airbox & filter flows more than enough for a 4.3 and the stock AC Delco filter media is much better than most aftermarket products. If this is your daily driver I would not mess with a thing until the warranty has expired or you get another set of wheels for your daily driver.

Stock air box is a fresh air and most aftermarket draw warm air from underhood. OEM system supports up to 8.1 L engines. More than enough for your engine.

well for my other car i have a 98 ws6 so modding this is no big issue to me.

 

So i guess stock it stays, any other good mods?
