On my 02 k1500 5.3. I am having a starting problem.. After driving the truck under normal use. And shutting off I can come back and it will not start up and run.. It will crank as usual, then act like its gonna start then shut down.. I can wait about 10 mins try it again and it starts and runs great. This will happen maybe once to twice a week.. Seems like it always takes around the same time before it will start up after starting fails.. I have changed fuel filters and checked for codes and none are present.. If any one can point me in a direction to go it may save me form selling this darn truck.. Thanks ahead of time for the help....

Could be a theft deterrent problem, which causes a start then stall condition. This usually sets a code, but not always.

 

Also, maybe a leaking fuel pressure regulator, though that seems less likely given your description of the problem. Pull the vac. line off the pressure regulator after a drive that will induce the problem and see if any fuel comes out.

Thanks GM tech The truck has a remote start on it that was installed a year or so ago.. But this problem started about 3 months back.. I will check the wireing in the steering colum and make sure it is secure..
