2001 Youkon Denali rear shocks

Can anyone tell me what & where the sensor is that activates the rear compressor for the shocks.

There's a sensor for each wheel. In the rear, it's mounted on top of the frame by the wheel with a link that goes to the control arm.

So is it possible for them both to fail at once or do they just work or not work to keep it level from side to side?

Is there a way to test them?
