All I was trying to do was add a third dome light to the cargo area of my "07" Savana, so I could see my tools back there at night. I purchased an auxillary dome light (1157) from "Auto Zone" and screwed it into a roof rib using the self tapping screw and a chassie ground. As soon as I touched the hot side of the light to the blue wire with white tracer (same as the rear lamp), all dome lights went off immediately. I checked fuse #3 under the drivers seat ("CTSY LAMP/SEO) and it's fine. Played with the dome dimmer switch, and alarm- all check out o.k. The only thing I can think of is that there was a reason why the factory dome lights use a black ground wire and not a chassie ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year.
