97 silverado (need good mechanic)

well here we go,,, i own a 97 silverado 2500 with a 5.7 ltr. vortec 350. i was driving it down the thruway a while back and all of the sudden it started missing very bad and wouldnt go over 40 mph. i pull over and the passenger side exhauset manifold is GLOWING RED HOT... have it towed to the garage where the distributor was fixed, and a broken ground to the computer was fixed... after these steps were taken the truck still ran bad so we took the cats off to make sure they werent plugged and replaced the csfi injection unit.... Stll no fix. i am so lost with this d**n thing. please help
