I have had to replace both window regulators and 1 motor on the silverado and 2 window regulators on my Tahoe.

Does anyone know of a recall on window regulators?

Have not heard of such a recall, they are just not built very good. I replaced one on my '00 Yukon rear passenger window, I think the kids hung onto it and the cables got tangled up and smoked the motor trying to raise and lower it. Keep the kids off the window and I sprayed some oil onto the cables of all of the regulators and they seem to be doing fine, even sound different. I got the regulator/motor off of ebay, new in the box for less than 35 bucks, including shipping (guy didn't own the rig anymore!!) Once a year I spray oil onto the cables to keep them lubed up and haven't had any troubles yet. 110,000 miles on the clock and purrs like a kitten.

 

It is a bummer to tear the door apart, took me longer to get the black goo cleaned up than to put the regulator in, took 5 minutes to do that and 25 minutes getting the duct tape off of the windows and black goo off of the door. LOL.
