Is a fluctuating gas gauge needle with low fuel light represent bad gas gauge or bad fuel level sensor at the fuel pump Chev 2000 4.3 Silverado.

Brooks, there has been some issue with the sensors but I would suggest you try a bottle of Chevron's Techron at the rate of 1 oz per gallon of gas. Do this for at least one tank and maybe two. It contains an agent that will help clean the sensor and could correct your problem. Be sure to get the pure Techron and not the Pro Gaurd with Techron. It is expesive but may solve you problem. If not, it will still offer many benefits in cleaning your injectors, valves and comb chamber.
