HID headlight upgrade?

I would like to do a Denali headlight swap. Just putting in a kit will look horrible and produce alot of glare, like those rice Hondas.

You can't on the NBS. Sierra Denali's will not be available with projector beams or HID from the factory.

I'm considering doing this within the next few weeks. If I do, I'll post pictures.

From what I've read, the newer HID kits won't produce all the glare that the earlier models did, and they will retain your headlight's pattern.

I think the reflector set up in my new Sierra is VERY accurate. It is as close to a projector as you can get. The high beams work great. They have massive intensity and distance. The lows are OK, but HID would be great! The low beam pattery is very precise and has a fairly sharp cut-off on the sides and at the top of the beam pattern. The headlamp covers are clear, so HID should work fine in the factory assemblies.

I just ordered my kit, and should get it within a week. I'll take pictures of the install, and how the light pattern looks before & after with the HID set.

From what manufacturer did you get yours from? I'll be waiting for those pics.

Do you have a new body style 07?

The kit itself is generic, but it uses Siemens, Ormron and Panasonic components. I bought it through a wholesaler that I have a merchant account with. If the kit works well, and anyone else wants one, I should be able to get you a kit for around $175 shipped. That's for a kit with two bulbs, the ballasts, and all wiring in either 5000k, 6500k, 8000k, 10000k or 13000k temperatures. The kit is plug & play, with no splicing required.

Sorry, it's not a new body style 07. In my head, the 2006s are still the "NBS", that's what I was thinking when I said that.

I've seen HID done on the 03-07 classic Silverado's and it usally looks great. However, the headlamp design has changed so much, that it really doesn't do me all that much good to see your set up. I have a friend who has an 06 Silverado and he just put in HID 5000k's and he loves it. I like it too, but it's not like my truck!

HIDs are sick. Our TL has them, and MDX will, and when I get in my truck the lighting is just depressing. I'd like to eventually get some high powered halogens but due to budget restrictions won't be running HIDs anytime soon.
