Tire Type?

Hey all,

Trying to figure out what brand tires my new truck will have when it gets here... Its a new Silverado w/ P265/65R18 on-/off-road, white outline-lettered tires.

 

Im thinking its Bridgestone Bueller A/T but im not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Looking at your name, HuntingEd, I just have to assume you take your truck off-road on your hunting trips.

With that thought in mind, if you go Bridgestones, make sure you get the "REVO" tires instead of the OEM Bridgestones. There is a HUGE difference.

 

The BFG AllTerrain TA is another good choice too.

Yea I do some considerable off roading and im trying to figure out if I'll need to upgrade my tires from the stock ones... Im sure i will but i'd like to run as much on them as possible...

Oh My! Now that I am AWAKE and have had my Coffee.........grumble.

 

I know the 18 inch tires on the Z-71's have all been Bridgestones from the truck I've been looking at.

The 17's on the GMC's I've seen this past weekend were also Bridgestones. I would think these tires would do "okay" for the first year or so, but I would tend to be looking for a slightly better tire soon after the first year.

Yea from what i could find Im pretty sure they are Bridgestone Deuler A/T's so they will be fine from now till summer...

I might be incorrect, but I don't think 16" rims will fit. When they went to the 17" rims they increased the size of the brakes. I think a 17" rim is the smallest rim that will fit.

True... I'll have to try it out, not sure if im gettin rear drums or not.. If i get all discs i might be able to squeeze some 16" rims on...

I would personally suggest either the BFG All-Terrain TA KOs or the General Grabber AT2's. I've run both tires (identical tread pattern and very similar construction) and have had good luck with both (currently running the Grabbers). The only problems I have run into is the Grabbers tend to chuck clip-on weights, so you might have to go with the tape-on weights as I have. Otherwise, both are EXCELLENT tires for both on- and off-road performance, and really only start to let you down if you get into HEAVY mud as they can't clean themselves fast enough for that. Otherwise though, the only choice is the name BFG or the low price of the Generals (about $30 cheaper per tire).
