sway bar end link problems

I just had to replace both end links on my sway bar because they were completely rusted through! Both ends of my sway bar were loose and were dragging on the ground! I've never heard of this kind of problem, is it common?

End links do wear out, faster if you drive off-road/in salty conditions. How many miles do you have on your vehicle, and how old is it? Usually they don't go at the same time, but they do wear out/break.

Only 86,500, but it has lived it's entire life in northern NY, which has destroyed two exhaust systems already...

I have a 02 sierra 2500HD and the drivers side link is completely gone. Passenger side is still there but i am replacing both of them anyway. I got a pair for $60.

I had the driver side one break on me due to rust. It sounded like I had a broken shock or something every time I hit a bump. I replaced both at the same time. You know if one breaks the other is going to sooner then later.
