07 A-Post Wind Noise - Question For A Tech

What are the new hinge bolts supposed to do differently and why are they supposed to be replaced?

These replacement bolts came in at the dealership and I looked at them and left scratching my head.

Only difference I saw is that they are black, the bolt head is shorter, the bolt head is bigger than the ones that are in there now.

Any thoughts, or could someone call tech tech line to get the reasoning on the bolt replacement and why they have a specific course of action

to address the problem (the least invasive step, washers, is the 4th fix step, instead of the first fix to try)

Thanks

The below mentioned text is from my previous post on the A-post wind problem.....

#PIT4172A - (02/14/2007) supercedes PIT4172

Document ID# 1905692

Subject: Wind noise or excessive gap at front door A-pillar molding

Models: 2007 Chevy Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban

GMC all Yukons

Caddy Escalade - all

Acceptable gap changes from 9mm to 7mm

Gap is measured 25mm down from top edge of the reveal molding (the black plastic that meets the windshield)

Anything >7mm should be addressed (if there is a problem of course. If it ain't broke..........
