paint or coloring coming off the dash

wasnt totally sure where this should go. but due to an accident (mom and goof off) my dad's dash now has a large area of black where some light gray used to be.. is there any paint out there that'll match up perfectly or do i have to do a best match with some of my modeling paint?

I've had Dash paint come off of both of my Ford trucks, but never any GM trucks.  You may be able to get some dash paint from a dealer like you would touch-up paint.  Otherwise a paint shop can brew you some.  

BTW, it's not cheap.

I've heard of people having a problem with the paint coming off the dash, but I don't know what they have done about it.  Sorry.  I will say, if it's under warranty, I'd take it to the dealer.

I don't know what to do either. It's a crazy problem. I guess I'd start by talking to a body man. I'm sure there is a fix.

it came off because this really great stuff called "goof off" i told my mom it removed the paint from my clod rims so she should be careful..  the stuff ate off the paint on the dash.. and it feels like some of the plastic but i cant tell for sure.. have to make a stop at some automotive places and see if they have any touchup paint that matches the interior color i guess.

I used "Goof-Off" to get the gummy residue off the tail gate after removing the dealers advertising sticker.  Did I get lucky or is clear coat different than the dash paint?

Like Pastmaster said, you should be able to get some interior paint from the local dealer the will match the interior.  It works very well, because almost all the diesel guys use this stuff to color match their A-pillar gauge pods.
