2002 Silverado 1500 Brakes Done

Did finally try again and got the front brakes done on 2002 Silverado. How depressing a job. No GM QC at all in their parts. Used Autozone rotors with Bendix pads. Had to file down some of the pad mounting clips to fit over the caliper bracket clips. Right outside pad acutally fit ok, all other needed to used both file and/or hammer to mount the pads. Depsite picture, truck stopped straight and true - kind of amazing.

Works ok with new stuff, had to break off all the wear tabs to clear the caliper bracket, just no room for factory parts - heh, it's only brakes, GM must have figured no one would notice. New brakes made some initial noise, went on a 5 mile test drive to seat the pads, stopping every half mile or so, don't hear any noise and the steel wheels aren't hot.

Hope this works with the picture in my signature block, can't figure out how to upload pictues directly with this message.

Thanks for everyone's advice, will see how long the new hardware lasts.
