Ok, its almost time for new tires. And im sure new shocks would be nice. Here is what im curious about. I have cranked my tbars to get that level look. I want more though, and its the rear that im also concerned about. This is my plan. Ford keys, tbar crank, new shocks, and in the rear, add a leaf, not sure how many I would need to get where I want it, and bigger tires. How much taller, not wider, can I get on my tire size? I dont really wanna go wider, this truck spend 85% of its life on the pavement, with the occasional haul and tow. I know the 285s are wider, currently I have 265/70/17's, good ol revo's. The other issue is, how much can i get out of the rear? and i guess the front too. Im looking for at least 3" between the keys, crank, and tires. Any one acheive that? I hope to do this with out a pinion angle change or cv joint issue.

Thanks, I know this is a common question, but I want to push the limits

If you want 3" in the front, you are most likely going to run into cv joint problems if you do it with the torsion bars/keys. 3" is a lot of lift as far as the front axles are concerned. As far as tire size, I'd guess you could get 33's in there if they are stock width

Why use the keys to lift the truck ? After you get level leave it alone the T/B key adjustment is not meant to be a cheap lift kit !

If you want a lift buy a kit ,

As far as tire size once level 285 series will fit easily with no rub and are 33" tall tires.

thanks for all the advice, id like more height but also understand there is also a down side and will take all things in to consideration. im thinking the ford keys, level torsion bar crank, and add a leaf's in the rear with new shocks all around and new tires will get me where i wanna go. Im sure that many of you share my frustration out on the trails on a stock silverado....maybe someday gm will factor a height increase in to the z71 trucks
