Rough Cold Start Up

I've got a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic K2500HD 6.0 liter V8 with 4000 miles. Ever since day one when I start it up in the morning, or whenever I start it up after sitting for a few hours, the engine doesn't start up "clean" as it does all other times when started other than cold. It doesn't matter what the outside temperature is. I can only describe it as a "rough" start. It stumbles for a second or two and the starter stays engaged until it actually starts. It never stalls, just skips and jumps for the starting process which lasts about a second or two. Any other time it starts up nicely. Do I have an issue or is there no cause for concern?

Just to let you know the problem went away a few months ago. One morning I started it up and it was just fine and has been ever since.
