Oil Questions

Hi. I have an 02 Silverado with the 4.8 and has 67,000+ and have a question about oil. I was considering putting in Synthetic VS. Valvoline and was wondering if it would hurt my engine with this many miles or would it be ok?? Also, I do have the typical "Piston Slap" or whatever ya call it and was wondering if the Synthetic would help quiet that down, without hurting my engine?? Just thought I would ask you experts since ya all seem to know alot more than me. Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I agree, do a search, but in response to your question... If the vehicle has had good maintenance schedules up to now changing to synthetic will be no problem. If the oil looks like road tar and is twice as thick from running for 35k between changes, don't do it.

BTW guys, telling someone who has been here for a month to do a search and then not answer his question may be interpreted by a newbie as an insult. Just my opinion.
