Broken Horn Connector

on my 98 sierra, no air bags. the horn connector in the steering wheel has broken. this is the on that is set into the column, and kinds resembles an inline fuse holder. i'd like to replace it with what was in there or feed the wire up and put on a different connector. i am learning that it really stinks not having a horn. what i am trying to figure out is if i locate the wiring harness that comes out of the steering column how do i figure out which wire it is?
