Got My E85 Software Update Notice.

I got in the mail today the notice that there is a software update for my 06 sierra. It said it is not necessary to take your vehicle to the dealer as a result of this letter unless you currently use or plan on refueling your vehicle with E85. Well, I think I should get it done or not, because right now the gas mileage with using regular gas sucks. Was wondering has anyone else got this letter and had this done and did it make a difference? I hope it makes a difference on this truck. I have not broken 18 mpg yet, while my 01 gets over 18 mpg all the time(the 01 does have a wester tune though).

Sure, go for it - PCM updates never hurt. I normally have the dealer update the PCM when it's in there for repair. It can fix/improve all sorts of issues... idle problems, shift performance, fuel mileage, etc.
