97 Sonoma Electrical Problems?

Ok I was just givin this truck by my uncle. It's a 97 extended cab with 4x4.

basically what was explained to me is that he thinks there's a short, won't keep a charge. When you rev the motor the stock radio make that humming noise quiet loudly. He also said the 4x4 switch isn't working, looks like he tried to replace it since I found another one in the back seat.

 

I am in the middle of trying a new battery, just need to extend the alternator wire.

 

Anyone had this problem? or something similar. I'm new to gm trucks so I'm not completely sure. I also want to avoid ripping apart the dash trying to find it if it might not be that.

Well so far I've changed the battery, still being drained... And the fuse panel had the wrong fuses in some spots, a 25 a in a 10a spot :|.... 20 in a 15 and so on. So I am going to pull the dash and check all the wiring

Make sure there isn't a short from the neg. battery cable to the body.

that would cause all of this? My other guess was the connection at the starter.
