Tire Question And Opinions

Going to buy new tires for my 04 Sierra Xtra cab 4x4 soon. Checked out tire rack and am considering the Firestone Destination LE's or AT's. Anyone have any experience with either? The reviews read great. Truck is used on the farm at times and sees the highway as well. No aggressive 4 wheeling but may encounter some mud every now and then and maybe even a snow or two. Pull a trailer several times a year but it is a light utility trailer with mowers on it. Will be making a roundtrip of 3000 miles out West once a year also. Any opinions?

Only have had the LE's and they are a nice ride but traction leaves a little to be desired. If I were buying one of those it would be the A T without question.

I had the LE's on my last 2 vehicles. I replaced Goodyear wrangler St's which are absolute crap and Dunlop rover AT's which I did like but were a real nail magnet I have no complaints about the LE's at all. Great Traction and tread wear especially in the rain. I am going to try the AT's on this truck only b/c I sold my SUV and want something a little more aggressive for pulling the boat trailer up through the sand.

I'm currently running the LE's on my truck, great tires. I have taken them somewhat off road and they did great, much better then what i thought. I would suggest getting them. I haven't tried the AT's but i have heard that they are really good too.

I have the LE's as well and wouldn't take any thing for them. They are wearing like iron and ride great.

I will not buy another tire brand.

I recently went tire shopping for my 04 Sierra. Went with Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor. I've had BFGoodrich, Hankook, Bridgestone Duelers (the cheap factory set) in the past. These are the best so far in snow, ice, and rain. Haven't had a chance to find out in mud yet. I didn't compare the Firestone much because the tread didn't seem aggressive enough for me. I'd think it's a long wearing quiet tire based on the tread pattern.

Several months ago I replaced my aging tires with Firestone Destination LE on my 2001 Silverado Xtra Cab, and I got to say the sound level is very quiet and the handling is great! It exceeded my expectations and the price was much better than similar Bridgestones. As a suggestion, I would opt for the Destination AT's as the tread is slightly more aggessive than the LE's, and looks better on 4x4's vehicles.
