Hey what's up everyone, just wondering if their are any other firemen here? Seems to be a connection between fireman and trucks. I work in Albany,NY at a dept. of about 260 full time firemen, severing 100,000 plus people which goes up 50,000 during the day due to state offices. 8 engines, 4 ladders, 1 Rescue, 4 paramedic trucks, and some other random trucks. Just wondering where your from and how the other half lives.

Wait a minute, I thought you guys were supposed to save people, not sever them! ::)

Just yankin' your chain man, I realize that's a typo (atleast I hope it is! lol). :)

I know there's atleast 2 handfuls of members who work in the emergency services field, be it fire, EMS, or police. I'm pretty sure I speak for us civilian folk when I say thank you guys for what you do!

I am a volunteer FF/EMT in Bossier Parish, La

I also work part-time (paid) for the local EMS as well as the volunteer dept I am at. Our EMS has 4 units around the parish, each manned with at 2-3 personnel, with at least one being a Paramedic.

My FD, has 3 full time guys that rotate shifts, plus 2 daily guys that work 8-5, the 8-5 is for us part-timers & relief people.

I don't but I have a friend that works for his dad. He does the whole EMS thing, and I know they all (mom, dad, and son) drive trucks. Just thought I would put that out there.

my dad is a firefighter/emt part time in Illinois, he used to work part time for 2 departments but with his full time pipefitting job, it just got to be too busy, last fall i was all set to get my firefighter 2 with our local department but they had to postpone the fire academy to this fall!!! so needless to say i'm playing waiting games and its killing me, ever since my dad let me climb all over his rigs as a little kid I've wanted to be a firefighter so bad... so if all goes well this fall!! I'll be a firefighter bye july next year!!
