I've always liked the cowl hoods on GM trucks and I'm wondering what one might look like on the 900 platform. Has anyone found any in the aftermarket world? Are there any Photoshop guru's in the house?

Cowl or scoop? I think a scoop would look much better considering the recessed hood that opens up to the front. Filling in that recess with a cowl may look very odd, IMO. I'll give the scoop a shot and see what happens. The cowl might look good on a Silvy though.

I don't like the scoop, its just looks kind of out of place, but I love the cowl, it just kinda flows with the truck.

Thats some good photoshopping, I think that the cowl looks really nice. You should send that in to a company who makes hoods and tell them to get on it.

Scoop FTW. I saw a couple different designs on ebay from no-name manufacturers a few weeks ago but they were fiberglass.

 

I have a silverado and like the look of the HD hood with its dual cowls. Would love to do that swap but don't know what is involved. I'll have to take a trip the dealer soon and look. It looks like it would need a new grille and maybe bumper impact bar.

Wow! I'm not really into scoops either but that doesn't look bad at all! I like the cowl too. Now on to trying to figure out how to make the scoop functional....hmmm. I bet those GM designers are looking at this post right now thinkin', "d**n why didn't we think of that!"
