Recieved A Somewhat Threatining Phone Call From A Blocked Number Today

As the title says I recieved a blocked call from someone today, stating that I almost ran them off the road and I should "watch my back" because I could have killed them. Well I didnt cross any yellow lines today, so I am not sure what I should think of it. Is there any way to find out what the number was that called me? I know you guys are good with getting around stuff, I called cingular and they said they cant find out, well I find it BS, because Im sure if a Law Enforcement officer was calling theyd prb cough it up quick. Just wondering if I can handle this myself.

Thats why I dont answer blocked numbers. But hey that person must know you to have your phone number. Next time to just meet you outside and ya can take care of business. :wink:

I guess I gotta pull my Louisville Slugger from under my back seat and keep it on top just in case I am just worried that my vehicle can be sabotaged without anything to go on.

sounds like random call, hoping they could scare you into giving them your information and insurance stuff .. so they could make a claim against you ...

 

think of it this way ... for them to get your number from your truck ... it either is a place you have had work done ... or a cop that ran the plates (less you have your number posted on your truck someplace) ...

 

it is not easy to get a tag number and go up to the DMV and just get all your info .. (have to know someone, etc etc) ...

I think somebody is prank calling you. Some loser off of the highway has no way of calling your cell... how would he get the number?

 

Next time run them off of the road properly and you won't have this problem. HA!

I try to drive as well as possible, as with the influx of non locals we have so many bad drivers. The person calling sounded way to serious for it to be a prank call, with no backround noise and no hesitation. But never went over into oncoming traffics lanes, so not sure what the deal was with the call.

i can call someone, and lie my ass off .. and make them beleive what i am saying, and have them convinced that they need to know more ... used to be in sales ...

 

if you are for sure you were driving ok, i still say prank call ..

 

if it had been a cop ... they would have pulled you over right then, or identified themselves when they called (which would be very rare, most of the time they pay a house visit or send a letter in the mail)

If you don't mind me asking, what's your proffession? That might have something to do with it.

 

Did they actually say that you ran them off the road?

 

Perhaps mistaken identity?

 

 

Alot of the high-dollar business types (realtors, High-end landscaping, etc.) have their cell #s on either vehicle somewhere, and they pretty much drive like jerks (most of them, not all). Maybe someone ran this dude off the road, and they missed the number by one digit or so.

 

Another possibility is that there was a previous owner of the number you currently use. And the call was for them... Have you had the number you use for long?

 

For the 1st 3 years I had a phone I kept getting calls for a Dr. Johnson from health insurance companies and such.

You still haven't addressed the fact that a random driver has no way of knowing what the phone number of another driver is. If your number is not on your car it is obvious that somebody is jacking with you or somebody has a wrong number. Go have a beer and forget about it!

I work with a company doing Heating and Air Conditioning. I drive my truck to the jobs and there is a supply truck with everything needed there. My truck is completely unmarked. The only thing I can think of now, would be that someone maybe indeed got almost ran off the road, and it was a black truck, and started asking around. I know a lot of people but didnt sound like anyone I recognize. Not sure though.

I would guess its just a wrong number or somthing, I wouldnt stress over it unless they keep calling you and just wont leave you alone, then you gotta take the slugger with ya.

I wouldn't sweat it. If they were too **** to leave their name and number, they won't do anything about it.

 

I'm guessing they just left you a voicemail and you didn't actually talk with them?

No I talked to them, I asked who it was and their like dont worry about that. Idn they did seem pissed off but idn I havent had a good fight in a few years so hopefully I can get some entertainment LOL
