Volant Install (nnbs)

Threw the Volant on today. High quality parts, and everything aligned up pretty well with the exception of a few screw holes (mainly the air box lid; see last photo.)

New Body Style (GMT 800)

You might see NNBS, which is 'new new body style' (07's) (GMT900)

I think thats what they stand for anyways.

Jesus, glad I asked because I would never have guessed that. I was guessing the "n" was "non" something and the "s" was "Sierra" . I would would have never gotten there. You probably saved me a trip to Charter Vista or Betty Ford. But then I might have gotten to meet Lindsey Lohan or some such wigged out chick.

I installed this one on my NNBS(GMT 900) Silvy, and had the same problems with those 2 bolts. You can't get the air filter in with the lid on, and you can't get the lid on without it being in place, and once it's in place, you can't reach the screws.

do you hear any sound from it...I know the stock tube has 3 silencers on it..and its driving me nuts how quite it is

I'm actually surprised at how much sound came from the new intake. Looking foward to some exhaust mods now! (Flow Super 44)

I'm looking at getting a volant air intake system. What made you decide on it rather than the any of the other brands? Did you notice any power increase?? thanks

Very sweet looking Silver Max! I love the wheels!

I think the Volant is the only way to go on a truck. We have a member that is part of our Xterra offroading group and he has been running a Volant intake and a mild Flowmaster exhaust and his MPG has been as high as 21. I know that does not sound impressive, but in a shoe box driven aerodymatics, an underpowered SUV and 4:56 gears that is pretty impressive.

Start with the top and bottom (inner/closet to the fender) bolts, and check alignment, if it looks good then screw in the rest. If not then try the outer top and bottom bolts. It was a pain figuring it out for me too.
