07sierra 71 Tire Fitment

Hello, newby here. I have spent the last few days reading post on tire fitments and leveling kits. I have the Skyjacker 2" leveling kit on the way. My question is will 305/65/17 fit? I know a 285/70/17 will. Should I get an 8" or 9" wheel? The wheel I want is the procomp 6001 and the tire procomp Xtreme AT. Any thoughts? Thanks

The 305/65/R17 with a 9" diameter wheel will fit.

77 views and only one reply??????? I called 4wheel parts and was informed that the 305/65/17 is too wide to fit with a leveling kit. He also informed me that there have been some rubbing issues with the 285/70/17 tires. How extensive the rubbing is I don't know.

I wouldn't take stock in everything that 4WP says...When I was shopping for my rims on the HD, my local 4WP kept trying to sell me a lift kit saying that I wouldn't be able to fit 16x8s with 285/75/16 tires (already mounted on stockers) so I took my business elsewhere and got the exact same rim specs, did not rub as bad as they were making it out to be. I did have to cut up the edge of the valance and trim quite a bit of the wheelwell lining but other than that no major problems haha.

I think with the 2" lift you SHOULD be able to fit 285/70r17 but it's a wild guess based on what the stock size is. At the worst you may be facing some wheelwell trimming.
