I Put A Black 06 Chevy Hood On My 05 Orange Silverado

Everybody said it wouldn't work, but it does, and I like it!

 

I need to get it repainted, but I'm not sure if I want to stick with black or paint it the same as the rest of the truck. I have a Xenon front bumper cover to go on, and I am going to get the chrome on both bumpers done in either orange or black powdercoat.

The 05 grille almost doesn't match up, but the difference isn't noticeable from eye level.

I'm really surprised that nobody else has any comments.

 

This picture was taken from a low angle and shows how much the hood overlaps and the slight difference in angles between the hood and grille. Like I said before, from eye level it isn't noticeable. Sorry about the bugs.

i kinda like it... do you have a bed cap? if not maybe you could paint your bed rails black too... just to get it to flow with the rest of your truck...

I'm looking for a Roll-n-lock or something similar in black or at least plastic bedcaps that look like the stock spoiler. I used a truck that had the bedrails done in LineX and that looked nice.

I agree about the bed cover. I'm working for a bank to sell a bunch of truck accessories from a bankruptcy. I was hoping to find a cover for my truck in the stuff, but haven't yet. After it all sells, I'll use some of my profits to upgrade my truck more.

Yeah dude I think it would be sweet if you could get the top of your cab painted black with a black hard top for the bed!
