well I think its sweet looking to start it off. And Its aweosme to see Gm making a faster truck. But dislikes is that it is only performance. No luxury was thought up. And it only comes in a standard, thats the only color you get, and I wish it was like the other SS and came extra cab. Maybe they will put the motor in a extra cab auto. That truck would kick some serious A$$. What is the fasted chevy truck. Only the SS with the 6.0? I've seen some plain SS's and then Ive seen ones with the stripes going up the hood of the truck with cowl indution hoods and all that. And does the SS come stock with a super charger or do the owners put that on?

No stock supercharger, you can get one installed at most dealers and still keep warranty. The 427 will not go into a truck any time soon, that was just a concept to get attention and show what could be done. And the fastest truck stock is the Duramax, 660 torque at 1600 rpm stock. Put that in a regular cab 4x4 and ain't no SS keeping up.

I do believe that the TBSS is the fastest "stock" SS in the lineup.

Those little Cobalt SS's can tear some sh*t up with some really inexpensive mods though.

What do stock duramaxes run in the 1/4?

I wish cobalts came stock with a turbo or a bigger supercharger. SRT4>Cobalt SS. (excluding the looks dept.) Another ''damnit'' would be their forged engines...forged everything except pistons. IMO they should have been built rear wheel drive also. If they came like that factory, I probably would have went through with getting one. That and with my cam I'll destroy them while not sounding like a ricer where ever I drive :)

SS Silverado's are good for high 14's and low 15's factory.

I agree, the cobalt should have been RWD...as with everything in the SS lineup...excluding the AWD stuff that is.

I mean, come on...Impala, FWD...that is balls. They totally screwed that car after the mid 90's.

And a 5.3L FWD is the worst idea ever, the 4l60E and a 10 bolt can barely take the torque of an LS-series, I'm sure a set of CV joints work great under all that power. Can you imagine the TQ management in that facker.

The new impala's are FWD??? That is balls. FWD is naturally a bad idea IMO. Im afraid to mash it in FWD cars because you have no idea were you're going to go! Steering with the power wheels...especially thru turns when they start hopping around. ugh.

Cobalt SS's being FWD is just about as bad as fwd impala's. The traction is so s**tty from a dig a lot of drivers are running high 14's all the way thru the high 15's in a low 14 second car. And most come with limited slip.

it just takes knowing how to drive a FWD ... and most people don't ...

yeah they do end up with torque steer... but if you know about it .. and how much .. you can compensate for it ... can even built up the suspension to almost eliminate it ...

my personal pref is still awd>fwd>rwd>4wd ... (yeah i seperate awd and 4wd, i consider awd one that has fully active monitoring that will shift the power where needed etc etc.. and just 4wd as one that they all rotate .. and, well thats it)

Having Owned a 07 Cobalt SS/SC, and being that is 14.2-14.5 stock and with only 2 grand in mods you can get it in the 12's is a smart choice. But it sucked that its a FWD.
