305 / 40 / R 22

How will 305 / 40 / 22's look on a 22 x 9.5" rim, in particular, will it extend out of the fender well in width? I definitely don't want it to stick out, I hate the look. My truck has no suspension mods.

I am considering upgrading to that soon for looks and more protection against curb rash.

Thanks

WOW. They will be over 3 inches taller than your 265-35s. That's a lot of difference. Plus... 305mm is over 12 inches wide (12.0078 to be precise) so I would think your sidewalls would be pulled way in at the rim. Not good for tire wear (or looks). I would imagine a 10 inch wide rim would be the minimum you would want such a wide tire on and that would be pushing it.

But that's just my take.

I've got a set of 285-45-R22 on a set of 22 X 9.5" wheels and they don't stick out past the fenders at all. I also have stock suspension, but eventually I will get a lowering kit, so i think that they are perfect. They have plenty enough sidewall for rim protection.

I think I'll probably give it a try once my tax returns come in.
