Odometer Quit On My 1990 Silverado

I need to know how to fix my odometer on my 1990 Silverado. The speedometer still works but not the odometer. I have heard there is gear in the IP but do I need to replace the intire IP or is there a part that will fix this problem?

First wait 3 years.......making sure you change oil every 3 months. Drive the vehicle like you normally would.......then go to the dealer and tell them it broke this morning.

Wow and they will fix it. Do you really think I need to wait 3 years on a truck that is already 17 years old?
