Rock Guard/rhino Lining/other?

I just picked up a 2004 2500HD. Seems to be a great truck. I have a question about what others have used to protect the underside of the panels. The rocker panels are pretty torn up on mine, and I'm not sure if I should have it prepped and then have it sprayed with one of the good bedliner materials (I do have a Rhino Liner installer in town), or just go with some of the rock guard type paint that the body shops use. I want to get it done soon, before it turns into a more serious rust issue.

Thanks,

Anyone? The quotes I got from the local Rhino liner dealer and from one of the better body shops are very similar, so I'm looking to get whatever will work best.

Thanks.

Either one should work.

You can do bedliner material on the rockers. Prep work is extremely important. You have to make sure all remnants of salt and dirt are gone so you don't end up sealing it in and letting the corrosion start from the inside. Rock guard and paint might look nicer but I doubt it will offer anywhere near the level of protection from future damage the liner material will.

Good luck!
