1st it started with the passenger side belt, could hear it squeaking all day long. now the noise has started on the driver side. this only occurs when the belt is not being used.

You can try popping off the plastic cover on the upper seatbelt guides that are above your shoulder, and putting some moly grease in there. Mine was squeaking. I took off the plastic cover and saw that the metal arm had a sharp edge that was grinding into another piece of metal. It had completely scraped away the black paint in one location, and bare metal was showing. It's kinda hard to explain without pix. Hasn't done it since I put the grease in there.

Mine made the same noise on the passenger side for the first 3-4,000 miles, but it went away after that and its been quiet for the last few thousand miles,I guess it "wore-down" whatever was causing the noise.

I don't know about the driver's side making noise,I always buckle-up.
