Replacement Rear Bumper/cover For 07 Tahoe?

My wife backed into a parked car last week.

 

Dealership wants almost $1000 to replace the painted bumper. Any suggestions for alternative bumpers? It's the LTZ package with the parking sensors on the back (Don't ask) so I'd like for it to look relatively good. A few years ago, when my '94 Silverado was rear-ended, I took the insurance check and put on a steel bumper rather than the factory replacement, but I'm not sure she wants that "Ranch Hand" look on the back of her Tahoe. Any suggestions?

She shouldn't be driving something that large if she can manage to back into a parked non moving car with rear parking sensors installed in the bumper. I think it is time to step down to a sedan.

Trust me, I tried to talk her into a minivan (three kids) before we bought the Tahoe. I got as far as a test drive before she killed the idea. To be fair, she was backing out of a driveway and was trying to maneuver around a car parked directly behind the driveway. The damage wasn't too bad, but due to light and flexible materials, very costly on the Tahoe. That's the exact reason I replaced mine with a heavy duty bumper. I was rear-ended once more by a Honda with no insurance who drove away from the scene with a crumpled hood and I simply repaired my damage with a few sprays from a Krylon flat black can.

 

So back to the question at hand.

Assuming you have insurance on your new vehicle (full coverage on a vehicle valued over $3000 is a must) just have a body shop fix it.

Deductible is $1000, so I'm not quite there.

Guess you learned the hard way that $1000 Ded. isnt to good on a $25K + vehicle. You should have $500 Ded.

This is getting a little off on a tangent, but it saves in the long run considering we usually don't have many claims, so a higher deductible keeps the premiums and overall outlay lower.

 

I guess there really aren't too many aftermarket alternatives.

As new as your vehicle is there probably isnt any aftermarket replacement covers yet available.
