Auto On Headlight?

One of my gripes on my 99 (NBS) Silverado is the blasted auto on headlights option. Not that I mind them 90% of the time, BUT I would like to have control over their function. I understand that the 2003+ models allow you to turn the auto on feature off at the switch. I was wondering if I can replace the switch on my 99 with one from a 2003+ so that I can control the auto on feature? Would this be a simple P&R or would I have to do any re-wiring? TIA

Search my post's I think we answered this the answer is no you can't easily do this, in my opinion.

All you need to do is push the dome light override button three times and it will disable your auto headlamps. The only time this wont work is if your truck was origanly sold in canada. They have a law about disabling auto headlamps.

His truck is a 1999 and they didnt come with the dome override
