Dial Pad For Onstar?

Does anyone know of a dial pad kit for the Onstar cell phone?

 

I have tried everything I can tink of, and it seems that the voice recognition can’t tell my 5’s from 9’s. I have not been able to make even one outgoing call using voice recognition.

It looks like there is one out but it's apparently only for TTY (Hearing impaired) customers. The OnStar site says there is an interface module and a dialpad.

 

I found the voice recognition on the OnStar phone too frustrating. It gets numbers wrong, it takes way to long to complete a call, and it's less accurate at highway speeds. Storing the numbers in memory gets better results.

 

Best advice would be to forget the OnStar phone and get a Bluetooth kit installed for your existing phone. They can be wired to use your steering wheel controls and the stock speakers.

I found that OnStar TTY and Dialpad info also. It said that the dealer would instal but you have to meet certain restrictions.

 

I guess that I will look into the ParrotKit. That may be a better option anyway; then I can just drop Onstar after the first year.
