Nuclear Weapons Or Air Bags Disarm

I stand a greater chance of buying Nuclear Weapons than to find out how to disarm a passengers front air bag on a '99 ZR2 Blazer.

Why is that? I plan to run TSD rallys with my truck and the odometer used sits on the face of the air bag. Would like to be the co-driver if the air bag deploys?

Not 100% sure how it's set up, but you may be able to just unplug the airbag connectors, it'll run out of juice pretty quick.

Just rear end someone and let it deploy before you put your instrument on ;-)

 

My wife's 2000 S10 had a switch that you put the key in and disabled the passenger airbag. I am not sure what year they made that law where they had to disable (of course now they have the weight sensor). I was just thinking if the '99s had that option, surely there would be a way to disable it if the factory could install those switches. Maybe you could ask someone at the dealer? A lot of times too the Haynes manuals will tell how to disable them if you have to perform maintainance that requires getting under the dash. The caution, disable airbag notice by doing this is usually in the instructions somewhere.

if i was running in a rally i would prefer to pull the airbag all together ... just incase of a bad wreck and the slim off chance that it may still pop
