Interior Question....

I've searched high and low but have come up empty on this...

I've got a GMC 2004 2500HD ext. cab and am installing a set of Marathon Seat Covers but have run into a snag.

Does anyone know how to fold down the back of the rear seat to slip this cover over?

I've looked high and low for some type of cable or strap to release the brackets behind the seat and have come up empty...

Am I looking for the holy grail that doesn't exist or am I just "special"? biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

I'm at the point where I'm going to abandon looking for this thing and just unbolt the rear seat but will wait for a response on this thread before I go that route.

Thanks!

I hate to say it but I do not think that the rear seats in the 99+ extended cab trucks fold forward. My brother has one and I have not found a way to fold them.

Bottom folds up, back does NOT fold down in an ex-cab.

What you'll have to do it take it out. It's not hard though. There should be five 18mm (if memory serves) bolts/nuts holding it down. Once those are off, there are tabs on the seat that are dropped into slots on the back of the cab...So you have to lift the seat straight up.

I did it by myself, so other than it being heavy, not a bad job.

Of course...Your truck is newer than the '02 I did it on, so I may just be talking out of my a$$.
