Fold Down Center Armrest - Wt - 1lt

Recommended Posts

So I am at dealership for some work. And I walk around looking at new trucks. GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado. New GMT900 2007/2008.

I notice that the WT have a fold down arm rest with open (no cover) storage space with two cup holders in the front of arm rest/storage.

The 1LT has the full covered center fold down arm rest storage with three cup holders.

Non covered fold down center arm rest 2 cup holders - WT.

Covered fold down center arm rest 3 cup holders.

And the cup holders appear to be that same size. And the center folding arm rest seems to be the same size. Is there an optical delusion here? Anyone else ever compare the two WT/1LT? Was the 'free' coffee at the dealership waiting area 'spiked'?

no thats how it is ... i have a WT .. and eventually will upgrade to the other center seat / console ..

also the 'up' version has storage in the lower part as well .. another lid that folds open for more space ...

it costs about 400$ to buy the unit outright ...

Well, that's two of us looking at the upgraded center jump seat for GMT900.

I still don't get it though, how can 3 cup holders fit in same area as two cup holders - when everything else appears the same?

My dealer could be wrong but they told me that a upgrade was not possible. I think he told me that matching the fabric would have been the hard part but I could be wrong.

My guess is correct.

I have vinyl seats and I don't think they make a vinyl jump seat with closing cover arm rest. But since I have gray. A fabric one will be OK. I'll get a used one from salvage/recycling yard at some point.

no the fabric isn't an exact match .. but i am lucky i have the dark grey / black fabric in mine which is a real close match to the color in the up level trim ...

i will prob end up ordering mine from gmpartsdirect ...

it is possible to do the upgrade, if you are not picky on the fabric ...

as for the cup holders ... in the higher level one ... they are closer together and closer to the edge .. in the W/T one ... they are just centered in the space... so there is room for 3

I have the fabric too but I wouldnt call us lucky to have a huge lint magnet. This NNBS fabric sucks.

Subject Excessive Lint Accumulation on Cloth Seats (Replace Seat Covers) #07-08-50-018 - (08/28/2007)

Models: 2007-2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe

2007-2008 GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali, Yukon Denali XL

with Cloth Seats (RPOs AE7, AZ3, A95)

Built Prior to August 1, 2007

Condition:

Some customers may comment on excessive lint accumulation on the cloth seat material. Darker colored seat fabric seems to show the condition more than lighter fabrics.

Cause:

The source of the lint accumulation is not the seat fabric material. The seat material, though, exhibits a tendency to accumulate and retain lint from sources that come into contact with the fabric.

Correction:

Replace the seat covers (back and cushion) with new covers that have been created with a revised fabric. Refer to SI for the appropriate seat back and cushion cover replacement procedures.

Oh, my !

Well . . . another good reason I opted for the vinyl seats !

And so far, all that have seen and commented have stated "Wow, leather seats" !

i know there is a recall on it ... when it was first put out it didnt include the W/T interiors ... but now it apparently does .. either way i haven't had the issue yet ...

First off,Its not a recall,Its a TSB,Theres a difference between the two.

And secondly that TSB has been updated because the part numbers listed are wrong,Heres the new TSB in which GM says there are no parts available at this time....
