6.0l Oil Gauge Range

I was driving my 2001 2500HD 6.0l to a New Years party (left it there and got a cab home). It was freezing temp in Oregon so I let it warm up for a few mins before driving. I noticed that the oil gauge was sitting at 60-65 during my drive to the party. Is this normal?

 

I just bought the truck and have not done any fluid changes yet, so it is what ever the GM dealership put in there.

My '02 6.0 when cold is 65-70 at idle and when hot is 40-45 at idle and usually 60-65 going down the road.

This is normal - oil naturally becomes more visc (thicker) at colder temperatures. This makes the oil pump work harder to move the cold oil. When the oil gets warmer, it becomes easier to move it around the engine block - resulting in a lower oil pressure.
