Temperature Sensor And Abs Light

Hello Friends

This may be a recurring question, but I could not locate anything on it in this forum.

My 2000 Sierra 1500 4x4 has the comp/mirror in it. After hitting a snowbank a month ago, the temp reads 0 full time. Can you tell me where the sensor is, precisely, so that I can check it out?

Also, my ABS motor was activating on dry roads, just before a stop from normal braking. At one point, it ran loudly and I lost all braking action for over 12', before I hit the above snowbank!! I took out the ABS fuse and voila, no more worries. My mechanic assumes (he has not coded it yet) that the wheel sensors are at fault. I have heard many things about other items. Any thoughts? Can I test this at home with fault codes using dash lights? (keep in mind my ABS and brake lights are full time, along with my air bag light, since I disconnected the fuse)

Many thanks!!!

TEMP SENSOR should be located in the front pass side grill area. I assuming you have a newer body truck.

Sounds like you have multiple abs problems. If your abs motor comes on when slowing down to a stop you have a speed sensor issue most likely one of the front ones. I believe there is a recall on this check with dealer.

If your abs motor is running all the time your electronic brake control module (ebcm) is shorted.

Of course this is a educated guess not having any codes.
