Rust On Bumper

I have a 2003 Silverado with a stock rear bumper. I have some rust that has formed in spots on the underside of the passenger corner of the rear bumper (not visible unless you crawl under the truck). How can I remove this rust and what can I do to prevent its spread on the rest of the bumper?

Maybe try scrubbing it with sos pads. Always works for me!!

 

 

Will that ruin the finish on the underside of the bumper?
