What size of wheels will i need with using the keys on a 06 silverado i was looking at some 20's and there 8.5 wide with a back spacing of 5.14 and the offset of +10 and would the hub bore be 108. A guy at the local tire store said i couldnt fit them at first with 20x10 with a -24 offset and the back spacing of 4.56 that i needed to stay around +30 which is stock. He said that even with a 0 offset it would rub.

Generally speaking, you'll need at least +25 when using a 20x8.5 to keep standard diameter tires from rubbing at full lock. According to others in here, there has been various degrees of success when using larger rubber.

Well as i was looking around for cheaper price on the wheels there (xd rockstars) i found them for 200 but yet with a +35 offset...i dont know much but i would say that with a mud tire, that it would catch the inside well, is that possible...i also went to another local dealer and i asked him with the wheel hub he said he never heared of it and that the ones he looked at would fit? Iam like how do you know its going to fit if you dont know.

Alright, finally got to meet this guy at the local chevy dealer (and there sit a truck like mine but crew cab with the rockstars i wanted but 22's) that use to jack up trucks before he moved to the dealer. Also talked to KMC sale man. He told me there is hardly a wheel out there that will fit a silverado that has a perfect size. Chevy man said get the wheel its ok and said that most of the time people dont use them, he said thats your choice, but in time the plastic will wear and tear, but just replace them. He also told me to not use the key lift to get 33's under the truck, he said the best way to do the small lift is to do a body lift. Then to get a rid of the rake look to torque the stock keys barely, the right side 4 whole turns and then the left 4.5 turns, then just do it until its even. So does any body have a pic of a body lift???

Hey Josh, I want to do the same thing to my truck. I want to try to crank the torsion bars myself. 4 whole turns on the right and 4 1/2 turns on the left one? you say. Then Im assuming I get out my tape measure and crank till both are even steven. Also which way will I crank them? I really want to bring the front end up a bit even though its before I get my truxxx leveling kit 3in Front 1in Rear.

The chevy guy told me there was guys where he lived that he seen the bars had swisted and busted the keys out, were there truck was leaned over one way. He said if he had to crank it would be the stock ones, but he said he didnt want to see me do that to my truck. Him and his buddy both work at the dealer and both said no even when i talked to them at different times both months apart. I mean i have looked, talked, and talked till am almost the point of saying the heck with it cuz you hardly get no answer, or many answers, but when 3 mechanic's said no dont do that, two with experence i mean i wouldnt crank them far. They said 1.5in is suppose to be level with the back, i dont want to say dont do it, i mean if you go to a shop sure there gonna want to sell, 200 bucks right there you spent, truxxx i found on ebay cheap for near 300 with shipping. I mean all i got to say is talk to your mechanic or local shop to see what they say and see if you get the same answer. Guys at local styling shop he said there was a kit on off road unlimited that he says is the best kit, its like gm ifs leveling. keys and new shocks that are suppose to be longer and that is 230 bucks.

Guys, I used the Ford keys on mine and have had zero problems for almost 6 years now. Honestly, there have been many people on here that have either cranked the bolts or replaced the stock keys with either Ford T-bar keys or an aftermarket set of reindexed keys. If you want to do the body lift, it is up to you but I chose not to because I didn't want to hack up my factory valence to put on my brush guard. The choice is really up to you. The mechanics are right, you only need to lift the front about 1.5" to get it almost level. The best thing to do is take a tape measure (on a flat surface) and measure the bottom of your fender with the center caps of your front tires. Jack up the truck and place it on jack stands then crank a few turns then set it down and take more measurements. Do this a couple of times until you get the look you want. Your truck may not take 4 turns on one side and 4 1/2 on the other. We did my buddy's truck and only had to turn them 3 times on each side. It was almost 4 years ago for that one and I still don't remember which way we turned the bolts. IMPORTANT... Go get an alignment as soon as you are done cranking the bolts. The ride will be a little stiffer than you are accustomed to so be prepared. Cranking them too much will cause your control arm to rest right on the bump stop (not good). If level is what you want, IMO, this is the way to go PLUS it's free to do other than the alignment. Other than that, there is nothing else to do. I really don't think you need to replace your shocks with longer ones just for 1.5". I only replaced mine with ProComp shocks because the stock ones were crap.
