4-wheel Drive

I have a 1992 GMC 1/2 ton pick-up and the 4-wheel drive quit working. It is blowing the 4-wheel drive fuse. The drive shaft is working but no 4-wheel drive. I was wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions? Thanks Gary

I'll give you a bump...

If the front drive shaft engages like you indicate, that would narrow it down to the the front wheel hubs I suppose (Apparently nothing is wrong with the transfer case, which is a good thing). Off the top of my head I don't know enough about how those are wired up though to offer any useful advice.

Make sure the plastic electrical pigtail on the top rear of the front differential has a good connection. Mine looked fine on my old '90 Z71 but had worked off the connector just a little and the 4WD wouldn't work.
