Speaker Noise

Ive had my 2007 Sierra 2500 in the shop 10+ times for an annoying speaker whine/hiss/feedback noise. This occurs intermitantly with the radio on or off. Talk about aggravating. The noise will occur frequently when a dash ligh comes on or brake or signal light is on, and sounds like a ground is bad (high static whistle).

Of course GM is giving me the run around......

any ideas or similar experiences?

I know my computer speakers and my radio in my room hiss/pop whenever I get a cell phone call or text message. Maybe your radio is picking up something from the cell phone. Sometimes it will also do it if the phone is just near the speakers.

Not the same vehicle, but my moms older Oldsmobile Toronado had the same type of issues. I could not find the reason for about a year. Then the windshield wipers stopped working. Took it in to a local garage for repair. My god was that expensive. It needed a new switch under the dash, because the control box shorted out. You could actually see where the box was arcing. Then that in turn shorted out the motor under the hood. All in all it was a $1000 bill. And When I took it for a ride when it it was finished, the first thing I noticed was the radio played 100% fine. No static or feedback at all! The service tech said the wipers were on the same circuit as the radio, so the control box under the dash that was arcing must have been feeding back through the radio. Same as yours whether the radio was on or not, and at the same volume all the time.

So what I am trying to say, is even though I am not a mechanic, maybe something is wrong somewhere else in that circuit and if you don't find it, it may turn quite costly. My mom's car is ALL digital and a complete mess of wiring. There was no way I was going to find it other than the hard way, but I wish you luck if that is the culprit. I know my mechanic asked me why I didn't tell him about it so he could trace that complete circuit earlier, but I just thought it was the radio going bad over time.
