2004 Sonoma Crew Cab P0449 Error Code

I'm getting a P0449 EVAP Emissions Control System Vent VLV/SOL Malf, error code. It causes my check engine light to come on. I have already replaced the fuel cap and reset it---but it came back on. Can anyone help?
