Warranty Issues Looked At.....

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I have had my truck at the dealer for two days for a number of warranty issues, and here are some things I found out.

1) The passenger seatbelt was driving me nuts, with all the squeaking and creaking. They said it just needed to be lubricated, we will see if helps.

2) The power point in the middle consle wasnt working, and they had to take out the passenger seat to find that it was disconnected under the carpet. Crazy

3) They hadnt had anyone complain about the seats, and how they look. I couldnt belive it. They said they will keep an eye out for possible TSB's later this year. (I will probably find out here first!)

4) This is the big one. My transmission just hasnt been shifting right. I will spare you the details, they have been talked about on here. They said, yes, there is something not right with the tranny, and that they will have to open it up and look in there to find whats wrong. Thats all find and dandy (I think, tell me otherwise). The funny thing is, I will have to wait about 6 weeks to get it looked at. The reason why - They have to replace 17 Allison transmissions which failed in the colder weather. That is insane! I havent heard any of this! I am not mad that I have to wait, my truck still drives, and none of those other guys do.

Makes me worry a little about the tranny in my GM.....

I have heard of a few transmissions leaving guys sitting, but those were company trucks adn they went after they got stuck and tried to work their way out of it. All gas well operators. Hopefully you get everything worked out and have no major issues.

Man I fell you. Guess its shifting funny from 2nd to 3rd? I also noticed that it just doesent shift through the gears correctly when going to higher speeds. The dealer also admitted there was a problem but didnt know what it was. I dont know if I want them to crack my tranny open with only 1000 miles on the truck. It is starting to seem like these 08 GMC sierra's are already starting out on the wrong foot.

You fell me? Hey thats cool, thanks for taking the fall! :D

My dealer said pretty much the same thing, they know the tranny is not working right, just not sure what it is? Its not right on a vehice with 12000 km's, I dont care what anyone says. I am also unsure about letting them open up the tranny, but the dealership has been really good to me so far.
