Help Please! Door Is Shut And Won't Unlock - From Inside Or O

Recommended Posts

I just went through the process of replacing the right side lock actuator. Or TRIED to. They sent the wrong part, which only discoverable after you have

the whole thing out. So, in the process of reinstalling the lock/acuator/rods, I evidently did something wrong. I even tested it before I put the inside panel back on,

but now the door is shut and locked and no handle will open it. The key won't unlock it, nor will the manual lock inside. I have no idea how to get back inside

the door panel with the door closed.

Does anyone think a slimjim would be able to trip the latch? Thats the only thing I can think of.

It is a 2000 Sierra 1500, with and extended cab.

I'd take it to a locksmith. They could probably slimjim it and it shouldn't be that expensive since they wouldn't be doing an on-site call.
