Nbs Wiper Blades

I was just wondering if that style blade is easy to replace. How much higher than old style blades are they?

Do they have blades out yet? In October I went to buy some winter blades for my truck; none of the local auto parts stores had any. So I went to my dealership, and they didn't have any either. That's always nice, releasing a truck and not having winter blades for them.

I've replaced mine (had this truck since last December) twice. Got them at Advance Auto Parts and they swap out nice and easy. I even got the ones without the frames (I really like that look), just like the stockers. I wish I could remember the brand but they are out there.

Just regular old blade swap. Nothing special, just a standard blade. We don't get enough bad weather to need "Winter" blades.

I too prefer the "spineless" :jester: blades, and find they actually work the best in the winter! I have tried many a snow blade i must say...

Factory NBS blades don't have an exposed suspensions so they pretty much are like winter blades. I sell lots of "winter" blades at work and can see no advantage to fitting these.

ANCO now offers OEM style replacement blades for the GM. Can't recall the part # offhand but they're available.

I'm not sure what you mean Ray. I would have loved a set of enclosed winter blades on my truck these past few months. The ones that come on the truck are so thin, flimsy and open that the ice and snow just sticks right to them. They're useless in inclement weather. I was shocked when I couldn't find any, even at the dealer. As Tobias mentioned, the "regular" blades are out, but those don't do much good.

The TRICO Neoform Beam Blade is the one I was referring to in my above post. I have it on my Tahoe front and rear, and used it on my 04 Silvy...works great in the snow. I have yet to put blades on my new truck, but will look for these when I do.

Have these on my '02. They work so much better than the old style of blades. Found them at Auto zone.

Hmm really? That TRICO blade looks pretty flimsy, which is my main complaint about the OEM blades. Once they hit a little ice or some wet snow, they deform and don't work worth a shit. If they really are good though, I'll definitely give them a look for next year. Thankfully, this winter is finally coming to an end...I think.

Will, I am 100% in agreement with you on these OEM blades...if it werent for the hot fluid, they would have been ditched the first day I got the truck...it snowed 8 inches that day...I had good luck with the TRICO though

the one thing that needs to be remembered, the moisture content/weight of the snow in different parts of the US will affect the performance of the wipers in unknown ways. What works good for me here in northern Alaska WILL perform differently in other parts of the US, our snow is lighter and has a lower moisture content, there is definatly different than snow on the coast of alaska and definatly different than what you would get in the North East. Mine have performed pretty decently for me, although it has been a "light" snow year up here.
