I'm Steve I came across this site when I was looking for info on transmission cooler options and liked how every one gave some really good advise on this topic as well as other topics, so I joined, about 6 days ago. I drive a 2003 Silverado 5.3 which I bought brand new with only 6 miles on it now I have 140278ish and only had to rebuild the transmission at about 100300 even the breaks and rotors are original, I guess you can say that I don't like to stop all that much.

As of right know I have a flowmaster supper 40 with a 3 inch entrance and 3 inch exit I had to mod the muffler so it would fit and I ended it at the muffler so no tail pipe, Kenwood DDX 6019 with GPS and Kenwood KCA-ip500 Ipod control interface, K&N intake with an airaid tb, E3 spark plugs with MSD spark plug cables, I installed a dual oil filter re-locator kit using 20/50 Red Line synthetic oil and K&N PH 3001 oil filters. So far I have installed, wired, and welded all of my upgrades my self. I am looking forward to participating in any topics that I can help in but it's the knowledge that Ill gain from all of you that I'm more excited about. Steve

Yah a freind turned me to it because when he got his new03 Sierra he had some clinking in his block after a couple of oil changes as well as two other freinds that got their silverados as soon as they started using the 20w50 the clinking stoped so when I was about to make my first oil change I took his advice and from the begining just started using it to avoid anything. I know it might be a bit over kill but so far no problems so Ill stand by it.

Is the weather cold where you are?? Oil that thick can quiet things down but doesnt nessesarily protect better and when cold takes a lot longer to reach the top of your engine causing damage when you start her up on a cold winter morning. But hey ...to each is own...welcome to the forum man!

Not really the coldest it gets out here is around 40. Thanks for the welcome
